FSX Filter Cleaning System

A complete, state-of-the-art equipment cleaning package for DPFs is now available from FSX.

It’s an excellent starter package for Truck Dealers and Transit Fleets.

Details include:

Air Supply

  • 20CFM in FullAir Mode (30hp)
  • 68 CFM in AirSaver Mode (15hp)

Typical applications

  • Will process 8 DPF per 8 hour shift in AirSaver mode.
  • Will process 16 DPF per 8 our shift in FullAir mode.
  • Expansion is also available with the FSX Extension Ring Kit, which allows the users to process 3 filters at a time.

If more expansion is necessary, consider adding more TrapBurners. FSX has found that about one out of four retrofitted filters needs a thermal cleaning and one out of 6 to 8 active regeneration filters needs a thermal cleaning. Actual ratio will vary due to numerous factors.

As volume grows, consider adding additional TrapBlaster Pneumatic Cleaning machines and an additional SootSucker 2 to collect the ash. Each DPF will release one pint to one quart of ash and soot. An overhead crane or jib boom may be beneficial in moving filters through the work center as volume justifies. FSX can provide recommendations.

To get proper cleaning each TrapBlaster will need 120 CFM of air (if run in FullAir mode) which is about the equivalent of the air provided by a 30hp compressor. For lower volume shops AirSaver mode requires 68CFM air supply, typically a 15hp or greater compressor.
