The Hillsborough Area Regional Transit Authority (HART) announced that it was awarded $1million in state funding from the Florida Department of Transportation’s (FDOT) Resilience Program that will be used to repair infrastructure damaged at the HART Operations Facility during the last hurricane season.

The funding awarded to HART is part of approximately $6.6 million in funds allocated to five transit authorities and organizations whose facilities sustained damage during the 2018 hurricane season.

“We want to thank Governor DeSantis and the Florida Department of Transportation for this Resilience Program funding that will be utilized to repair our infrastructure damaged by Hurricane Irma,” said HART Interim CEO Jeff Seward. “We could not be more grateful for the administration’s support and look forward to continuing our strong partnership.”

The $1million in funding will support HART’s plans to repair the Authority’s 21st Avenue Operations Facility, to include the drainage system.
