Truckers Against Trafficking

Instructional Technologies Inc. (ITI), announced it is offering the Certified TAT (CTAT) Training Program from Truckers Against Trafficking (TAT) as part of its unlimited client subscription service.

“There is a real need for the issue of human trafficking to be addressed by the trucking industry and ITI is very pleased to be able to support the efforts of Truckers Against Trafficking by offering its CTAT Training Program,” said Marius Karoy, chief business development officer at Instructional Technologies, Inc. “ITI regularly chooses to make its training platform available to valuable causes and is proud to offer CTAT as part of our commitment to the industry.”

The Certified TAT (CTAT) Training Program from Truckers Against Trafficking is now part of the ITI PRO-TREAD library of courses and is available through the Sentix training automation platform dashboard to about half a million drivers. Fleet management personnel can also use Sentix to easily track completions and compliance as their drivers complete the CTAT course.

CTAT includes a video and questions about human trafficking and how truck drivers can play a vital role in combating this crime and end up saving a life. Upon completion, drivers are issued a certificate demonstrating their knowledge of the issue and course completion.

Currently, Arkansas and Kansas require new CDL holders and renewing CDL drivers to present a CTAT completion certificate in order to get a license. Other states, including Washington, Texas, Illinois and Ohio, require CTAT to be part of a CDL curriculum and for drivers to complete the course before graduating. Additionally, more states are moving toward requiring drivers to be CTAT trained as part of their CDL schooling.

ITI is known for its learning training strategy, an instructional method by which the student must ‘master’ each subject before moving to the next subject. The online strategy is proven to improve employee safety behaviors and provide defensible proof that students have mastered a topic. With ITI, fleets have the flexibility to use off-the-shelf PRO-TREAD lessons, engage ITI’s PRO-SERVICE team to develop customized content, and use ITI’s secure hosting services for their own content.

Truckers Against Trafficking (TAT) is a 501(c) 3 that exists to educate, equip, empower and mobilize the trucking industry to combat human trafficking as part of their regular jobs. TAT programs saturate trucking and related industries with materials, partner with law enforcement and government agencies to facilitate the investigation of human trafficking, and marshal resources to combat this crime.
