Jacobs Vehicle Systems, a world leading manufacturer of diesel and natural gas engine retarding systems and valve actuation mechanisms, announces the sale of its 7 millionth engine brake and that it will be displaying its latest technologies at the inaugural North American Commercial Vehicle Show (NACV).

While 31 years passed before Jacobs sold its one millionth engine brake, the sale of its 7 millionth Jake Brake comes only two years after reaching its 6 millionth milestone.  From 1961 to the early 1990s, Jacobs sold engine brakes as aftermarket products in North America.  Because of the shift to OEM factory installation and geographic expansion, Jacobs now provides engine brakes to over 30 customers with locations in Europe, China, Japan, India, and the U.S.

“By developing the latest in engine braking and valve actuation technology for our customers, we provide fleets with the reliability, performance, and value that they come to expect from Jacobs,” said Steve Ernest, Vice President, Engineering and Business Development.

Jacobs will be featuring its latest technologies such as High Power Density (HPD) and Active Decompression Technology (ADT) as well as their current engine braking technologies at the NACV show at booth 1858.  NACV visitors will also be given the opportunity to join Jacobs on September 26 and 27 in room B307 for informational sessions.  Topics will include HPD, ADT, and other technologies that will assist fleets in lowering their total cost of ownership.
