Lacks Wheel Trim Systems LLC, a business unit of Lacks Enterprises, Inc., has announced that its eVOLVE™ hybrid wheel systems provide significant fuel economy improvements for light duty trucks and SUVs based on recently completed testing and results.

The eVOLVE™ wheel systems provided a +0.76 mpg improvement* over standard light duty truck/SUV production wheels, representing a fuel economy improvement of over 4.1 percent when analyzed using CAFE tests under the direction and supervision of trusted third party test facilities. These results come less than one year after Lacks released its +1.1 mpg fuel economy improvement results which were measured using its new eVOLVE™ hybrid wheels on the Ford Focus hatchback.

The eVOLVE™ hybrid wheel provided measurable benefits in both weight savings and fuel economy performance for this important vehicle segment. eVOLVE™ wheels provide OEM customers with class-leading metal finishes, great design options and high quality, durable construction utilizing Lacks’ patented Chromtec® manufacturing technologies. The estimated annual savings that the eVOLVE™ hybrid composite wheel system provides to light truck/SUV owners is approximately $105 per year.

“The Lacks eVOLVE™ wheel provides a significant fuel economy and design capability to our OEM customers that they have not had in the wheel space. It is truly an application of form enhancing function in a way that has never been achieved prior to eVOLVE™,” said James Ardern, director of New Business Development.
