Load Board for Smaller Freight Brokers Fused into Single Integrated DAT Network

| January 23, 2017

DAT Solutions has announced that Getloaded, a leading load board for smaller freight brokers and carriers, has been integrated into the DAT network of load boards, expanding the on-demand freight exchange for spot truckload freight with more diversity of equipment types and loads from specialized brokers.

The combination joins the industry leading load boards into a single network with greater capacity and load volume for van, refrigerated, flatbed, and specialty freight. Prior to the consolidation, Getloaded and DAT – which includes DAT Power, DAT Express, DAT TruckersEdge and OOIDA’s MembersEdge – had operated with independent databases.

The consolidation of Getloaded carriers plus DAT’s own subscription growth has resulted in a 36 percent increase in the number of carriers accessing the DAT network of load boards from a year ago. The consolidation, which was completed in December 2016, gives brokers access to the largest – and rapidly growing – base of available trucks.

Likewise, former Getloaded carriers now access 400 percent more loads per day on DAT. These are available to them on the road as a result of DAT’s recently announced mobile load board app connecting truckers where they work.

“In this case, bigger really is better. On the spot market, carriers want to choose from as much freight as possible, and brokers want to connect with as many quality trucks that can deliver freight on a lane,” said Don Thornton, Senior Vice President at DAT.

The move is the latest in a series of expansions at DAT. In August, the company relocated to a 55,000-square foot, state-of-the-art facility in Portland, Oregon. It also grew its technical and engineering staff, while expanding its data science department to address the needs of a changing industry. These capabilities further expand DAT’s role as an information and technology leader in trucking and transportation.

DAT operates what it calls “the largest spot freight marketplace in North America.” Transportation brokers, carriers, news organizations and industry analysts can utilize DAT for market trends and data insights derived from 100 million annual freight matches and a database of $33 billion of market transactions.
