Lytx, a leader in video services for commercial and government fleets, has announced that it is moving the manufacturing of its video event recorders from mainland China to Logansport, Indiana.

The move brings 70 new jobs and $50 million in investment to America’s heartland.

The manufacturing is being contracted to Cal-Comp USA whose Logansport plant manufactures for a diverse set of industries, from aerospace and defense to medical devices.

Lytx estimates that full production will be ramped up by March 2018.

“Bringing these jobs to the U.S. makes business sense for Lytx in a number of ways,” said Jim McDaniel, Lytx’s senior director, operations and supply chain.

Ron Rehberger, Cal-Comp USA’s corporate vice president and chief operating officer in North America, said “Lytx’s event recorders are the essence of sophisticated technology and our staff in Logansport has a solid track record of producing high reliability products making this a perfect fit between our organizations.”
