Video Systems Helps For-hire Trucking Company Reduce Collisions, Improve Fuel Efficiency

To help reduce collisions and improve fuel efficiency, Fortune Transportation, a safety-focused and driver-centric for-hire trucking company, is deploying a video-based safety program across its fleet of more than 150 vehicles.

The company made the moved because the system delivers immediate offload and access to video; the ability to never miss a collision and capture no-impact incidents; review analytics and key performance indicators that can be incorporated with its existing driver scorecard program.

Noted Kent Kelly, general manager of Fortune Transportation. “In the first couple of months, we had two traffic collisions and the ability to download the video and send it to the driver for law enforcement review negated the need to send investigative resources to the scene, saving us several thousand dollars per incident.”

Also, with extended recording, all part of an approach from SmartDrive Systems, Fortune can have video for low impact and side swipe collisions, as well as all types of issues on the road, from delivery verification to security incidents.
