Volvo To Spend $69 Million on Virginia Truck Assembly Plant Improvements

Volvo TrucksVolvo has announced that it will direct a $69 million investment to further improve manufacturing efficiency and vehicle quality at Volvo’s New River Valley (NRV) truck assembly plant in Dublin, Virginia.

“This investment will spur significant improvements in material handling and parts flow that will allow us to increase throughput and reduce tied-up capital,” said Vice President and General Manager Lars Blomberg.

The enhancements will include energy-efficient upgrades to the paint facility, new racking and storage systems, docks, and lifting devices, together with the redesign of a variety of work areas.
