6th Asia LNG Forum to Open in September, Shanghai
While the US is becoming an LNG exporter thanks to its fast shale gas development, Asian countries such as Iran and Qatar are shifting their focus to the Asia-Pacific Region, in which China and India will be the main targets.
Under the circumstances, CBI BIZ will hold the 6th Asia LNG Forum on September 11th and 12th in Shanghai. The forum will focus on the global LNG shipping changes, LNG bunkering development trends and the world’s FLNG projects.
According to the Implementation Plan for River Vessel Standardization during the 12th Five-year Plan Period issued by China’s Ministry of Transport this March, it would provide incentives for ships powered by clean fuels. Meanwhile, Guidance for Application of LNG fuel in Water Transport which is being drafted will be the first state policy for the LNG ship industry. It is believed that it will be a strong support for the industry development. Besides, the state standard on LNG Ships is also under discussion and will be issued in the 2nd half of 2013. Therefore, LNG ships will be another big opportunity for the whole industry after the LNG vehicles.
