Ryder Commercial Fleet Adds 1,000 New Automatic Transmission Trucks

Ryder System has announced that it is deploying more than 1,000 new automatic transmission trucks that will expand and refresh its North American rental fleet.

According to the company, “the vehicles meet increasing demand from customers looking to improve fleet performance and driver job satisfaction.”

The automated transmission technology gives customers the performance they need, while optimizing fuel economy. The easy-to-operate transmissions also improves the experience for drivers, by providing smoother gear shifts, advanced safety features, and a variety of driving modes to accommodate different terrains and applications.

“With this investment in automatic transmission vehicles, we are helping customers address critical business priorities – fleet efficiency, driver retention, and recruiting,” said Richard Mohr, Vice President and Global Product Manager, Ryder Rental Operations.
