Uber Taps FleetCor for Fuel Card System

FleetCor Technologies, (NYSE:FLT), a leading provider of fuel cards and workforce payment products to businesses, announced the signing of a contract with Uber to provide the Partner Fuel Card, a universal card program for Uber’s US driver partners.

Under the program, eligible Uber drivers will be able to make fuel purchases that will automatically be deducted from their weekly earnings. In addition, to having the convenience of making purchases at any fueling locations where MasterCard is accepted, partners will also enjoy cents off discounts at every station along with additional discounts at participating Exxon Mobil locations.

This Partner Fuel Card program has been in development for several months, and is now being launched nationally to hundreds of thousands of Uber’s driver partners.

“Uber and FleetCor have developed a first of its kind offering for driver-partners enabling them to gain instant savings at gas stations nationwide,” said David Righter, VP of strategic initiatives at Uber. “Now, driver partners will have access to a variety of discounts applied automatically with every transaction.”

“We’re delighted Uber selected us for this important driver rewards program, and we hope to extend the program globally over time,” said Ron Clarke, FleetCor Chairman and CEO.
