Light Truck Sales Drive Big Gains for Honda Canada in August
The Honda and Acura divisions of Honda Canada notched an 11% increase over last year’s sales and the second consecutive month surpassing the 17,000 unit mark.
More specifically, August sales for the company in Canada were 15,482 units, up 10% over last year. The Acura Division reported August sales of 1,795 units, up 23% over last year.
Light trucks were a big winner.
According to the company, “Honda CR-V posted its third straight monthly record and its fourth in five months, while the redesigned Pilot led the charge in August, posting its fifth consecutive monthly record and an all-time monthly record.”
Canadian-built Honda CR-V rolled on to its third straight monthly record and the fourth in five months, posting a 15% gain on sales of 3,351 units. Honda Pilot sales rose 73% in August with 1,136 units sold, breaking a monthly sales record for the fifth consecutive month and setting an all-time monthly record.
Acura sales growth was led by the success of TLX at 419 units sold, a year-over-year increase of 103% Acura RDX continued its gains, jumping 45% on 642 units sold, setting a fourth consecutive monthly record
