Geotab Debuts Live Location Tracking in Telematics Offering

Geotab, a leading global provider of end-to-end telematics technology, has announced its premium quality Active Tracking solution that it says provides real-time telematics information faster and at a more granular level.

The company has engineered the approach to appeal to first responders, taxi companies, trucking firms and other fleet owners that “understand how live location information enables them to maximize productivity, efficiency, safety and customer satisfaction.”

The Active Tracking solution is a new feature for use with MyGeotab, a web-based fleet management software.

When fleet owners enable Active Tracking, the MyGeotab server tells the GO7 to deliver location updates as soon as they are available. Using patented algorithms, MyGeotab presents that granular location information on an animated map, reflecting the steady movement of the vehicle.

As a result, Geotab’s Active Tracking solution provides actionable insights that are particularly useful in applications where the precise location of a vehicle for dispatch purposes is essential.
