USG Extends Contract for Transportation Management

Leading building products company USG Corporation has renewed its contract for advanced transportation management solutions with Transplace.    

USG will utilize managed services solution and logistics technology for all domestic transportation activities as well as international export freight management, and now expand its partnership to include the company’s inbound supplier freight.

USG products are used in everything from major commercial developments and residential new home construction to simple home improvement projects.

For several years, USG has employed Transplace to help optimize the company’s supply chain execution through capacity sourcing, transportation planning, execution optimization and freight movement, which now includes inbound shipments into the manufacturer’s facilities located throughout North America.

USG noted that by expanding the services to include the management of inbound freight from its large, diverse supplier base to its manufacturing sites, USG looks to achieve greater control over the critical material flow.
