Light Trucks Fuel Sales at Honda Canada

Honda Canada has reported an increase of 10 percent in October, on sales of 16,923 units by the Honda and Acura divisions combined, for a new October record.

The Honda Automobile Division reported October sales of 15,169 units, up 15 percent over last year, also an October record. The Acura Division reported October sales of 1,754 units, down 20 percent versus last year.

“The success of our new truck introductions has driven Honda to more than 15,000 units sold for the fourth consecutive month, giving us great momentum heading into the winter months,” said Dave Gardner, senior vice president of operations, Honda Canada.

“Setting a monthly record for the sixth consecutive month, the prestigious and stylish RDX continues to inject Acura DNA into the line-up,” added Gardner. “We can attribute Acura’s weaker monthly sales in 2015 to last year’s October anomaly, a retail spike due to fulfilling pent-up demand for the newly-launched four-wheel-drive TLX sedan.”

October Highlights:

  • Canadian-built Honda CR-V rolled on to its fifth straight monthly record and the sixth in seven months, posting a 32% gain on sales of 3,630 units.
  • Honda Pilot sales rose 42% in October with 797 units sold, breaking a monthly sales record for the seventh consecutive month.
  • Setting a sixth consecutive monthly record, Acura RDX continued its gains, jumping 10% on 624 units sold.
