National Tolling System Claims Completion
Bestpass, which provides single-source payment and toll management services to commercial fleets, has announced that with its recent addition of actively processing toll in Oklahoma, it now offers what it claims is “the first, and currently only, fully functional and operational national tolling solution for commercial fleets.”
“When we started processing tolls with the Oklahoma Turnpike Authority, we added the final piece necessary to deliver a truly national tolling solution and to cover 100 percent of all major U.S. toll roads,” said John Andrews, President and CEO of Bestpass.
“Now that Bestpass covers every major toll road in the country, we are able to really consolidate our toll-related billing and reporting, improving our back office efficiency and avoiding unnecessary expenses,” said George Sowl, the fuel and credit manager at Halvor Lines, Inc., the first company to use Bestpass to pay for toll in Oklahoma. “We also hear from our drivers that they really appreciate having a single service to cover all of their toll.”
With the new coverage, Bestpass customers in Oklahoma will benefit from an approximately five percent discount over paying with cash, as well as an additional volume discount of five percent per transponder for transponders with more than 20 trips in a given month.
Oklahoma has 606 miles of toll roads, second in the nation behind Florida, which has 641 miles. Bestpass added coverage in Florida, Kansas and Texas last year as critical components of its coast-to-coast tolling solution. Bestpass now covers all four states with its exclusive Horizon transponder, and by the end of the year, customers will also be able to use Bestpass Complete, a single device for national toll coverage.
