Omnitracs Introduces Integrated Telematics for Mack Trucks
Omnitracs, LLC, a global leader in fleet management solutions to transportation and logistics companies, has announced the launch of Omnitracs Integrated Telematics (OIT) for Mack Trucks
Omnitracs Integrated Telematics meets the needs of both expanding fleets and those that simply need better data capture and analytics. OIT offers increased visibility into asset location, driver behavior and various traffic conditions, as well as real-time GPS and driver performance data.
“Mack Omnitracs Integrated Telematics’ software integrates with our original hardware, eliminating the need to add to or modify our current equipment,” said David Pardue, Mack vice president of connected vehicle & uptime services. “This allows our customers to benefit from a best-in-class solution, where fleets are granted real-time insights to better monitor assets and driver behavior while promoting safety.”
The first release of the solution will be available for all new Mack trucks, but can also be retrofitted to any older truck furnished with telematics hardware. As strategic partners, Omnitracs and Mack Trucks anticipate subsequent releases of the web-based solution.
In addition to tracking relative road speed and idling duration and cost, Omnitracs Integrated Telematics offers other prominent features, including:
- Individual analysis of driver performance via in-depth data capture and past and present GPS information
- Vehicle usage monitoring, such as visibility into activity during or after defined work hours, fuel costs, and route accountability
- Optional integration with routing and dispatching through Omnitracs’ “hardware-free” solution
- Real-time alerts (via email or text message) to provide detailed summary and exception reports
“With OIT, our partners can leverage their existing OEM hardware and receive all the productivity and visibility benefits that come with data analytics,” said Rich Glasmann, vice president of OEM strategy, sales, and marketing at Omnitracs. “Additionally, OIT streamlines the process for managers trying to ensure road safety and drivers looking to improve their own efficiency.”
