Transit Data Provider Moovit Names Frank Kopas VP Sales

Moovit, the world’s largest urban mobility data and analytics company and the #1 global transit app, announced the appointment of Frank Kopas as Vice President, Worldwide Sales.

Kopas brings 25 years of strategic and operational sales management experience in the enterprise software and Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) industries to his new role at Moovit. He now oversees the company’s global Sales organization, which currently has staff in Europe, the Middle East, and the Americas. Kopas expects to add numerous Sales positions in the U.S. and abroad by the end of the year.

Moovit launched its suite of Mobility as a Service (MaaS) products earlier this year to license to governments, municipalities and transit authorities to help them improve urban mobility and increase riders’ satisfaction around the world. Moovit expects to surpass one billion users of its app by 2021, and to expand significantly the number of cities that use Moovit’s solutions to improve urban mobility.

“In the past year Moovit has experienced hyper growth as a consumer-facing company with its internationally-renowned free app and as a MaaS solutions provider,” said Moovit Co-founder and CEO Nir Erez. “

Kopas is based in San Francisco and reports to CEO Erez.

Most recently, Kopas was General Manager of the Americas at Aconex, a SaaS company providing collaboration solutions to the global engineering and construction market. He joined Aconex in 2012. The company went public in 2014, and was acquired by Oracle for $1.2 billion in March 2018.

Prior to Aconex, Kopas spent seven years as Senior Vice President of Sales at Trilogy, the world’s leading privately held provider of enterprise business applications to Global 2000 companies. Earlier he held sales management positions at several enterprise software companies specializing in customer relationship management (CRM) and interactive customer support, business intelligence, and consulting services. These include iPhrase Technologies (acquired by IBM), Banter, Brio Technology, and Hewlett-Packard Company.

Kopas earned an M.B.A. degree from Ohio State University and a B.S.E.E. degree with Distinction from the University of Kentucky.
