| October 8, 2021

Razor donates new system to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund for the trailer carrying its traveling display across the United States

Razor International Pty Ltd, a global company, provider of Razor Drive, and dedicated to using innovation and technology to create products that make drivers safer and their work easier and more efficient, today announced that it has donated a Razor Drive electric landing gear system to the Vietnam Veterans  Memorial Fund (VVMF), the nonprofit organization that founded the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C.

The Razor Drive electric landing gear system was installed on the trailer that hauls The Wall That Heals mobile exhibit of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, which honors the more than three million Americans who served in the U.S. Armed Forces in the Vietnam War and bears the names of the 58,281 men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice.

“When we heard that the landing gear on the trailer for The Wall That Heals was in need of upgrading and modernizing, we were honored to be able to provide our Razor Drive system to make the driver’s job easier when moving the display from location to location,” said Chris Guttormsson, vice president sales and marketing at Razor International USA. “We are not only committed to being an active member of the North American trucking community, we are proud to support VVMF and its traveling display.”

The Razor Drive unit was installed on a custom trailer by Ainsworth Trailer Repair, Inc. The Denver, Colorado provider of trailer maintenance and repair services and a Razor Drive dealer provided the installation free of charge.

Now available in North America, nearly 30,000 Razor Drive units are in use worldwide. The ruggedized, self-contained electric device raises and lowers semi-trailer landing gear with the press of a button. With additional features of an optional wireless remote control and failsafe manual backup, Razor Drive makes it easy for drivers of all statures and physical capabilities to hook and drop trailers.

“A big thank you to Razor International for donating a Razor Drive unit for The Wall Heals trailer,” said Tim Tetz, director of outreach at the Vietnam Veterans  Memorial Fund. “Razor Drive makes it easy for our drivers to hook and drop the trailer on different types of terrain where The Wall That Heals exhibit is displayed. We greatly appreciate their generosity and time and their support of our nation’s Vietnam veterans and their families.”

Since 1996, The Wall That Heals has been displayed at nearly 700 communities across the United States. Through a partnership between VVMF and the Truckload Carriers Association (TCA), volunteer drivers and trucking companies haul the display, which includes a three quarter-scale replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial and a mobile Education Center.
