American Trailer & Storage lands key dealership agreement
Courtesy of Kansas City Business Journal by Austin Alonzo: American Trailer & Storage Inc. has signed a dealership agreement with Reitnouer Inc., the Kansas City semi-trailer and container dealer announced on Monday.
Reitnouer, based in Reading, Pa., is the transportation industry’s leading aluminum semi-trailer flatbed manufacturer, according to a release from American Trailer & Storage.
Rick Honan, president of American Trailer & Storage, said the agreement will help the company fill growing demand in the transportation and construction industries for the flatbed trailers.
“We anticipate it will add revenues that we haven’t enjoyed before,” Honan said.
American Trailer & Storage, which sells to warehousing and distribution, retail, construction and transportation companies, enjoyed a record year in 2011 despite the recession’s effects on the transportation industry, Honan said.
Last year, revenue sagged slightly, but Honan said the addition of Reitnouer products will help the company do slightly better in 2013.
He said the sales of the new products, which haul heavy construction materials, are closely tied to construction industry activity.
With the recent revival in home building, he said more companies will be ready to invest in new equipment.
“No one has bought any new (trailers) in the last four or five years,” Honan said. “Now there is a need for them with housing and manufacturing picking up.”
