April Used Class 8 Truck Volumes and Pricing Drop

Used Class 8 truck same dealer sales volumes ended their upward trend in April, while year-to-date volumes fell for the fourth consecutive month.

“April Class 8 used truck volumes fell by 3% m/m and y/y, ending their upward trek, while ytd declines continued for a fourth consecutive month, down 4% from April 2015,” said Steve Tam, ACT’s Vice President-Commercial Vehicle Sector.

“Dealers are reporting that used truck sales remain below 2015 levels and inventories have risen, while used truck prices continue to drop. The average price of used Class 8 trucks improved by 4% m/m during the same period, but remained 8% lower when compared to April of 2015.”
