Artificial Intelligence Leader Turns Eye to Driver Safety
NetraDyne, a leader in Artificial Intelligence, has announced the launch of its initial technology offering, driver-i, a vision-based platform designed to enhance driver safety within the commercial vehicle market.
Driver-i focuses on identifying, recognizing and rewarding positive driver performance by empowering fleet leaders with a more “robust” view of daily events. The platform was developed to capture every moment and aspect of the driving experience, rather than a small sample of time, delivering stronger value to each driver, fleet manager, and the bottom line.
The driver-i platform is an end-to-end IoT system. It is composed of an intelligent mobile video analytics device and a robust cloud-based fleet safety management center. The device capabilities are unparalleled and include:
- Dedicated Artificial Intelligence Deep Learning TeraFLOP processor
- Patent-pending four-camera video system offering a driver’s perspective with a 360 degree Quad-HD field of view
- High data bandwidth, low latency 4G LTE cellular module with a global coverage footprint
According to the company, the “fleet safety management center is intuitive, full featured and provides near-real time crowd sourcing of driver and vehicle safety event data enabling trend analysis and business intelligence with triggers for organization wide work flow.”
The reasoning and causality of everyday events like following distance, ‘stale’ traffic lights, and the action of other vehicles on the road are computed at the vehicle level, delivering information that is timely and meaningful. The driver-i platform provides complete visibility into a fleet. Through the application of artificial intelligence technology, the system identifies and detects images throughout each route and quickly analyzes their impact on the driver’s workday.
The driver-i’s proprietary GreenZone™ Driver Score provides fleets the ability to see how drivers are tracking against team safety programs and goals. This view offers visibility into positive driving activity, events that were caused by third parties, and notification of at-risk conditions allowing the fleet manager to step in before those events become severe. The GreenZone utility also offers performance-based push notifications so fleet managers can pass along kudos and rewards for excellent driving practices.
