Belmor® Announces 3RD Annual Contest
Belmor®, a leading designer and manufacturer of American-made heavy duty truck accessories and subsidiary of LUND International®, announced the start of its annual contest honoring America’s veterans.
Launching just in time for Veteran’s Day, the contest titled “I Did My Duty…Now I Drive Heavy Duty” offers a trip to the 2019 Mid-America Trucking Show (MATS) to one lucky winner and a guest.
Participants are invited to share their story about their military service and consequent career in the heavy duty trucking industry. Submissions must include information about time in service, duties in the military, factors that led to a transition into the trucking industry, favorite aspects of commercial truck driving and the significance of attending MATS. A winner will be selected by a panel of judges led by Mitch Fogle, president and CEO of Belmor® parent company, LUND International®.
“Since our founding nearly 100 years ago, all our products have been designed, engineered and manufactured in the United States of America,” said Mitch Fogle. “We believe in recognizing those who served in our military and still serve today through their driving careers, and thought this contest was a great way to bring awareness to what our veterans and drivers do for us and our nation.”
Founded in 1972, the Mid-America Trucking Show is the largest annual heavy duty trucking event in the world and will take place March 28-30, 2019 at the Kentucky Exposition Center in Louisville, Kentucky. Each year the show attracts over 70,000 attendees from across the United States and abroad. MATS features the industry’s newest products, hands-on demonstrations, seminars and special announcements.
Contest entry is open to U.S. veterans, 21 years of age or older who are currently employed as a commercial truck driver. Submissions must be made at www.belmor.com/vetcontest by January 15, 2019. Entries will be rated based on criteria focusing on emotional engagement and overall strength of answers to the individual questions. A contest winner will be announced by end of February 2019.
