Brightline Names Lyft as Exclusive Rideshare Partner in Florida
In an effort to make it easier for commuters to connect between Lyft and Brightline, Lyft announced that it will be the exclusive ride-hailing partner to Brightline.
According to Lyft officials, under the partnership, Brightline’s three stations in Miami, Fort Lauderdale, and West Palm Beach will function as designated pickup and drop-off zones for Lyft. The Brightline stations will also include Lyft branding and wayfinding signage.
The partnership is the first of its kind for Lyft in Florida and will launch Saturday, May 19, to coincide with the start of Brightline’s service to Miami and a Welcome to the 305 celebration.
The celebration will be held at MiamiCentral station and include Cuban cuisine by David’s Cafe, an appearance by Miami Heat player Udonis Haslem, music from DJ Irie, and much more.
Each designated area will include a lounge for commuters awaiting their rides.
The Lyft app will direct Brightline riders to pick-up zones to facilitate an easy connection with their Lyft driver.
In the weeks following Brightline’s May 19 unveiling, Lyft will integrate into the Brightline mobile app, allowing passengers to see their driver’s ETA and the estimated fare of their ride before requesting it in the Lyft app.
“Brightline prioritizes the entire guest experience, from booking a ticket to taking the train to arriving at a final destination, whether home, dinner or work,” Ravneet Bhandari, Brightline’s chief commercial officer, says. “By partnering with Lyft, we’re able to ensure that each of our guests will enjoy a seamless journey.”
