Canadian Start-up Aims to Kill Dead Heading
A startup has formed in Western Canada, providing an on-line platform and mobile application to help shippers and haulers reduce or minimize the impact that “empty miles” have on their respective business operations.
The company’s reports that its research shows that “at any given time up to 30% of trucks can be moving empty.” The new initiative is hoping to change that.
The technology will allow shippers and haulers to connect in a way that will save time and money for shippers and give haulers more opportunities to earn money – “essentially to never go empty again and bring a new level of efficiency to their business and their industry.”
The mobile application is free at www.backhaul.com.
