Celadon Bumps Up Pay Packages for Drivers
Celadon Trucking, one of North America’s leading transportation and logistics companies, has introduced new pay and vacation packages for company drivers.
The new pay package starts company drivers between $.40/mile and $.50/mile, depending on experience. Company drivers earn an extra $0.03/mile for refrigerated loads and company drivers with a HazMat certification also earn an extra $0.03/mile for HazMat loads. (Lease purchase drivers on the mileage-based pay program also now receive an additional $0.03/mile for refrigerated loads, regardless of the mileage driven.) In addition, company drivers earn an extra $0.01/mile for every 120,000 driven with no cap.
“We know the importance of attracting and keeping drivers in our fleet,” said Dave Chesterman, Vice President of Driver Recruiting. “By offering these new pay and vacation options to drivers, we feel that we can help meet both their financial and home time needs and make their careers at Celadon more satisfying.”
The new vacation package earns solo company drivers one week of vacation for every 30,000 miles driven. Company teams earn a week when each team member reaches 30,000 miles driven for a total of 60,000 miles. Drivers also have the option for a cash payout in lieu of vacation. The payout ranges from $700 to $1000 per week depending on the driver’s tenure with Celadon.
