Class 8 Truck Prices Hold Steady in October

Class 8 Truck SalesThe average selling price of total reported used Class 8 trucks continues to hold up better than expected, according to the latest release of the State of the Industry: U.S. Classes 3-8 Used Trucks, published by ACT Research.

“For the first ten months of this year, prices for used Class 8 trucks were down only 2% relative to the same period in 2012,” said Steve Tam, Vice President-Commercial Vehicle Sector with ACT. “”This was better than expected. Volumes were also up in October, improving 9% month over month,” he added.

The report from ACT provides data on the average used price for the top-selling Class 8 model for each of the major truck OEM’s – Freightliner (Daimler); Kenworth and Peterbilt (Paccar); International (Navistar); and Volvo and Mack (Volvo).  More info at http://www.actresearch.net.
