Facility is one of the largest commercial truck tire facilities in Kentucky

Bill Morgan Tire in partnership with Continental Tire announced the opening of the first retread facility in Lexington, Kentucky in 40 years.

The facility boasts more than 25,000 square feet and is one of the largest commercial truck tire facilities in Kentucky. With this new facility Bill Morgan Tire is expecting to do more than 15,000 retreads in the first year of offering the service.

With the opening of the retread facility Bill Morgan Tire can offer an eco-friendly way for fleet owners to maintain their fleet’s tires without purchasing new ones.

The company opened in May of 2018 with Bill Morgan III working by himself. Since then, Morgan has grown the company to 28 employees across 3 locations. With plans to add an additional 10 employees in the next 18 months.

The Morgan family has been active in the tire industry for over 50 years and services central and eastern Kentucky with additional service area to Cincinnati, Ohio and Knoxville, Tennessee.

“After entertaining multiple retreading companies, we finally decided to align ourselves with Continental Tire’s ContiLifeCycle process,” said Bill Morgan III. “Being able to offer our customers a premium retread and a new tire that matched up to the retread was of utmost importance to us here at Bill Morgan Tire. Continental has many superior technology products that give us the competitive edge when we go to market. The entire process from the design to training was of the highest quality and has made the choice to partner with Continental Tire a great one!”

ContiLifeCycle offers a cradle-to-grave approach to tire management that prolongs the life of commercial tires at every stage and is sustainable to the environment. The process begins with a new tire and continues with Continental’s retreading process based upon their durable casings. This comprehensive approach prolongs the tire life and significantly lowers the total cost to the fleet owner.

This process also proactively protects the environment and is more sustainable. By reusing the casing, it reduces the number of old tires in circulation and reduces the burden on the environment.
