Dometic Debuts High Capacity Auxiliary AC for Trucks

Dometic Group, a global provider of comfort products for the truck, caravan, motor home, automotive and marine markets, has launched its Blizzard Turbo, a powerful auxiliary air conditioner for trucks.

Why is it so cool?

As anti-idling laws become the norm across the country, engine-off auxiliary air conditioning becomes essential for drivers’ comfort when resting. Powered by batteries, generator, or shore power, the Blizzard Turbo provides a solid 7,000 BTUs of cooling.

What’s more, according to the company, in lab tests “the Blizzard Turbo easily outperformed competitors’ models that claim to provide up to 10,000 BTUs.”

According to Jim Kerrigan, VP of OEM Sales, Dometic Commercial & Passenger Vehicle division, “The Blizzard Turbo is specially designed to meet the durability requirements of the over-the-road truck market, and has a highly favorable BTU to wattage ratio, making it an efficient choice for cooling.”

The Blizzard Turbo is a split system that puts the noise of the condenser unit on the outside of the truck while the quieter evaporator unit blows cool air within the cab interior.
