Enterprise to Hire 10,000 College Graduates, 2,000 Interns
Enterprise Holdings Inc., the largest car rental company in the world, has announced plans to hire nearly 10,000 college graduates into its Management Training Program and more than 2,000 interns into its Management Internship Program worldwide in 2017.
The training teaches employees how to run a business, empower teams and provide top tier face-to-face customer service. Other areas include extensive training in a wide range of business skills, including profit and loss management, business-to-business marketing and sales, and operational logistics.
“Nearly 100 percent of our senior leadership team, including President and CEO Pam Nicholson and Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Chrissy Taylor, started out in our Management Training Program,” said Marie Artim, Vice President of Talent Acquisition for Enterprise Holdings.
In addition, Enterprise Holdings’ promote-from-within culture is a driving force behind its need to recruit thousands of innovative, college-educated individuals each year. This year alone, more than 16,000 employees have been promoted or taken on new challenges in various positions throughout the company, contributing to new opportunities for existing management trainees and the need to add even more talented employees.
The company takes employee development very seriously, basing promotions in large part on managers’ ability to retain and develop their employees. Enterprise Holdings employs a philosophy of learning that focuses on job shadowing and active learning. Managers play a crucial role in the process, providing on-the-job support that is critical to the company’s success in building a strong bench of leaders.
