Ford’s s Q2 Earnings Down 9% to $2 billion; Revenues Up
It was a solid second quarter for Ford Motor company, but the trend line pointed down a bit. Ford reported that it earned $2 billion in the second quarter of this year, down 9% from a year earlier.
The question is: Are U.S. vehicle sales cooling?
Wall Street was expecting a bit more on a per share basis, as Ford earned 52 cents per share — below the60 cents a share anticipated by multiple analysts.
Looking ahead, Ford has reduced its forecast for total U.S. vehicle sales this year from a range of 17.5 million to 18.5 million to a range of 17.4 million to 17.9 million, including heavy duty pickup trucks.
