Growth at Fleetmatics to Spur New Job Growth at Dublin-based Headquarters
Leading provider of software-based mobile workforce solutions, Fleetmatics Group PLC (NYSE: FLTX), has announced it intends to add up to 75 new R&D jobs at its Global HQ in Tallaght, Dublin by 2018.
That would bring the company’s total employee headcount in Ireland to well over 200.
For Fleetmatics, growth has been strong and powerful. The company was founded in Ireland in 2004, in a small office in Templeogue, Dublin, employing about 10 people in the first year of operation. Fleetmatics completed its initial public offering on the New York Stock Exchange in 2012, and employs over 1,200 people worldwide.
“While we are growing and expanding Fleetmatics across our major international markets, it is important that we continue to invest here where it all began,” said Dublin-based Peter Mitchell, Co-founder and Chief Technology Officer at Fleetmatics. “Here in Ireland we are spoiled with an incredible talent pool in R&D. And we attract them to Fleetmatics by offering engineers and product managers an opportunity to work on leading edge UX, SaaS, Mobile, IoT and Data Analytics projects – all of which help rapidly transform our customers’ businesses and truly make a difference. And of course, they get to be involved in a great Irish tech story.”
The expansion plans also include the development of Fleetmatics’ new Network Operations Centre (NOC) in Tallaght, Dublin, a custom built facility housing the Company’s Operations and Application Support Engineers. The building will consolidate engineering resources to foster closer collaboration and quicker response times for monitoring, maintenance, scale and support of software and infrastructure.
As of March 31, 2016, Fleetmatics served approximately 737,000 vehicles under subscription and approximately 37,000 customers of all sizes throughout Australia, Canada, France, Ireland, Italy, Mexico, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, and the United States. The Company reported total revenue of $284.8 million in 2015, an increase of 23% compared to $231.6 million in 2014.
