Honda Canada Reports Slightly Down July Sales
In keeping with many of the leading car manufacturers, Honda Canada reported that its most recent sales dropped, with a decrease of 4% in July, on sales of 16,869 units by the Honda and Acura divisions combined.
The Honda Automobile Division reported July sales of 15,214 units, down 3% versus last year. The Acura Division reported July sales of 1,655 units, down 13% versus last year.
“July Civic sales could not match the exceptional results of last year. Sales of HR-V fell significantly below last summer’s July launch, when we had months of pent up demand for the new model. Both of these results were expected and we anticipate a return to year-over-year increases in the coming months,” said Dave Gardner, Senior Vice President of Operations, Honda Canada. “The much-anticipated all-new Ridgeline pick-up truck is now back in the Honda line-up and with only three selling days in July, sales of the model are already showing strength.”
“The 2017 Acura MDX went on sale late in the month, raising its game with bold new exterior styling, larger wheel and tire options and an expanded complement of premium features and technologies. As a result, we expect MDX supply to stabilize in August and Acura sales to return to more typical summer levels, due to increased demand for the popular luxury SUV,” added Gardner.
