Honda Light Truck Sales Drive June Growth in Canada
Honda Canada has reported an increase of 2% in June, on sales of 16,905 units by the Honda and Acura divisions combined.
The Honda Automobile Division reported June sales of 15,273 units, up 4% over last year, marking an all-time June monthly sales record for the brand. The Acura Division reported June sales of 1,632 units, down 12% versus last year.
“As forecasted, the summer months are driving increased demand for our light truck line-up, as Odyssey and Pilot sales surged 10 and 22 percent respectively in June,” said Dave Gardner, Senior Vice President of Operations, Honda Canada. “With the all-new Ridgeline pick-up truck back in the line-up this summer and the compact HR-V continuing to grow in popularity with Canadians, we look toward further record-setting months.”
June highlights in Canada include:
- Honda division breaks a nine-year-old June monthly sales record with 15,273 units sold in June versus 15,017 in June 2007;
- Honda HR-V posts June monthly sales record with 1,285 units sold versus 703 in 2015;
- Honda Odyssey sales surged with 1,437 units sold, up 10% versus last year; and
- Sales of the versatile Pilot continue to grow, with a 22% increase in June on sales of 706 units, breaking the June 2015 record.
