Indeed to Help Alleviate Truck Driver Shortage by Offering 500 Full-Ride CDL Scholarships to the Military Community
More than 55,000 jobs are available in the trucking industry
Washington, D.C. — Many of us can relate to empty store shelves and the frustration of delayed packages. Trucking moves 72 percent of goods in America, and with 55,000 open truck driver positions, it is no surprise we are facing these inconveniences. To address the nationwide driver shortage, Indeed, in collaboration with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation’s Hiring Our Heroes, TransForce Group, and Troops Into Transportation, is launching a new initiative. Drive for 500 will provide 500 full-ride CDL training scholarships through TransForce Group’s Troops Into Transportation Master Driving Program. More than 500 employers are participating in this effort. Not only will Drive for 500 help move goods across America, but it will connect our veterans and their family members with high-demand, high-paying transportation careers. |
