Industry and Blockchain Expert Joins dexFreight
Former BiTA and TCA president to serve as VP of Transportation Relationships
dexFreight, providers of a decentralized, blockchain-based logistics platform, announced that transportation expert and former president of the Blockchain in Transport Alliance (BiTA), Chris Burruss has been named its Vice President of Transportation Relationships. In this newly created role, Burruss will develop and lead corporate relationships with industry stakeholders, associations, and state and federal agencies, to foster adoption and acceptance of the dexFreight platform “After building the infrastructure of BiTA and ramping up its standards development process, I wanted to participate in the actual commercial realization of blockchain technology,” Burruss stated. “In order to realize the widespread adoption of blockchains, end users will have to be able to touch, taste and see its potential and dexFreight is dead center in that space. Marrying my experience in the supply chain with dexFreight’s platform moves the needle closer to blockchain reaching its intended potential to create greater efficiency in the movement of goods.”
Burruss, a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, brings almost two decades of transportation experience to dexFreight. Prior to his role at BiTA, he served for over ten years as the President of the Truckload Carriers Association (TCA), the only U.S. trade association whose sole focus is the truckload segment of the transportation industry. Other previously held positions include President of the Tennessee Trucking Association, and Vice President of the Missouri Trucking Association.
“Chris Burrus is a firm believer in the importance of technology in transportation, which is critical to the adoption of blockchain in the industry,” said Rajat Rajbhandari, CEO and co-founder of dexFreight. “His understanding of blockchain’s potential and the decades of experience in the U.S. trucking industry that he brings to dexFreight will be instrumental in our ongoing success.”
