Volvo Truck Ad with Claude Van Damme Named Video of the Year
Fleet News Daily has named the Volvo Truck commercial featuring action hero, Claude Van Damme, as Video of the Year.
Released a little more than one year ago, the video, which has nearly 77 million hits on YouTube, and features Van Damme doing a signature split with two Volvo trucks moving in reverse on a highway.
The music is Enya’s classic “Only Time,” and despite multiple spoofs of the video, who cares.
The piece is already a timeless classic. Just look at the numbers. Within a week of its release more 25 million people were watching.
And don’t forget the voice over:
While doing the video, JCVD says the immortal words, “I’ve had my ups and downs. My fair share of bumpy roads and heavy winds. That’s what made me what I am today. Now I stand here before you. What you see is a body crafted to perfection…”
So hands down, this is the winner. Congratulations Volvo Trucks, congratulations Director Andreas Nilsson, and congratulations JCVD!
