Kenco Expands Transportation Services to Support Rapid Growth
Company Adds Leadership and Infrastructure to Enhance Offering
Kenco Logistics plans to expand its footprint in the transportation services sector by adding new leadership and enhancing capabilities. With volumes in this business unit expected to double year-over-year from 2018 to 2019, the company has prioritized additional infrastructure and management to support continued growth.
With more than 20 years of industry experience, Mike McClelland has joined Kenco as Senior Vice President of Transportation. In his new role, he will drive enhanced performance in all transportation service offerings. Kenco also plans to add up to 30 new team members in 2020 to support one of the fastest growing segments of the transportation business unit, the company’s non-asset offering, which includes transportation management, freight audit and payment and brokerage.
“Expanding our transportation services is a key element of Kenco’s commitment to delivering a comprehensive suite of solutions to our customers,” said Denis Reilly, President and CEO, Kenco Logistics. “With a customer-oriented team of industry experts, best-in-class technology and a strong infrastructure, Kenco works with our customers to optimize their supply chains through our transportation management team as well as helping with day-to-day capacity.”
Building on years of relationships with thousands of carriers and leveraging the latest technology, Kenco empowers customers to take advantage of the company’s extensive expertise as needed, without outsourcing their entire transportation functions. Kenco also provides ‘cradle-to-grave’ management of each shipment, a differentiator in the market.
Additionally, Kenco is expanding its asset-based transportation services, establishing White Glove service centers in Allentown, Pennsylvania, Chattanooga, Tennessee, Portland, Oregon, Denver, Colorado and Orlando, Florida. Kenco’s White Glove service includes residential delivery, product set up and removal of all packaging and older products.
“With e-commerce orders of furniture and home goods increasing, the need for White Glove services is growing,” added Reilly. “As a White Glove service provider, Kenco becomes an extension of our clients’ service teams, ensuring that delivery to the end user is a positive experience.”
