Mack Trucks Reaffirms Commitment to Safety and Veterans
Through the Workforce Heroes program, recognizable by its camouflage-wrapped Mack Anthem, ATA provides recruitment and training for honorable, dedicated and passionate men and women to join the trucking industry
Mack Trucks announced the continuation of its long-standing commitment to highway safety and veteran support through renewed sponsorships of two key American Trucking Associations (ATA) programs for 2025: Share the Road and Workforce Heroes.
“Every life saved on the road and every veteran finding a new purpose in trucking is a victory for us at Mack Trucks,” said Jonathan Randall, president of Mack Trucks North America. “Through these vital ATA programs, we’re enhancing road safety and opening doors for veterans in the trucking industry.”
“Mack Trucks’ unwavering support has been instrumental in the success of these programs,” said Chris Spear, president and CEO of ATA. “Their commitment to safety and to our veterans exemplifies the best of our industry.”
Driving Safety Forward
The Share the Road program utilizes a Mack Anthem® 70-inch Stand Up sleeper model, equipped with the latest safety technologies, to educate motorists on safely sharing highways with heavy-duty vehicles. Professional drivers, many with more than one million accident-free miles, demonstrate critical safety aspects, such as stopping distances and blind spots.
The Share the Road Mack Anthem is equipped with a 13-liter Mack® MP®8 505C engine, delivering 505 horsepower and 1,860 lb.-ft. of torque. It features a 12-speed Mack mDRIVE™ automated manual transmission, Bendix Wingman Fusion collision mitigation system and Mack Road Stability Advantage by Bendix.
Supporting Our Veterans
Through the Workforce Heroes program, recognizable by its camouflage-wrapped Mack Anthem, ATA provides recruitment and training for honorable, dedicated and passionate men and women to join the trucking industry. Driven by Share the Road professionals, this vehicle makes appearances at schools, career fairs and military bases.
The Workforce Heroes Mack Anthem is powered by a Mack MP8HE-415SE engine, providing 415 horsepower and 1,660 lb.-ft. of torque. Like its Share the Road counterpart, it’s equipped with the Mack mDRIVE automated manual transmission, which is standard on all Anthem models. This feature allows drivers to focus on the road rather than gear shifting.
“We’re not just moving freight; we’re driving progress for safety and helping our veterans find meaningful careers in trucking once they leave service,” Randall said. “These sponsorships represent investments in safer roads for all and brighter futures for our veterans in the trucking industry.”
