Mobile App to Track Driver and Load Status Wins Rapid Acceptance

truck on roadA recently introduced mobile app to track driver and load status is winning rapid customer acceptance and use according to Sylectus, a business unit of Omnitracs.

According to the company,  30 percent of Sylectus customers have adopted its mobile application — designed to improve fleet productivity and operational efficiency — in its first five months.

The mobile application enables drivers to view and update trip information and dispatch personnel to track driver and load status in real-time. It is the first-of-its-kind application to integrate Omntiracs’ Driver Workflow, which enables carriers to automate workflow for a more fluid, intuitive driver experience.

The Sylectus Mobile application for Android works by automating driver-dispatcher communications via integration with Omnitracs’ Driver Workflow application that delivers intelligent information, prompts and exception notifications.  The goal, according to Omnitracs, is to reduce cost of ownership by eliminating proprietary hardware costs.

“The rapid growth in mobile technology in the trucking industry is clear—most drivers already own personal mobile devices, with many using Android-powered mobile phones and tablets, so creating an application that can reside on these devices to make their jobs easier makes perfect sense,” said Stuart Sutton, president and CEO of Sylectus.
