Nation’s Top Truck Drivers to Compete in Salt Lake City

This week, hundreds of the nation’s top professional truck drivers will head to Salt Lake City for the 76th National Truck Driving Championships and National Step Van Driving Championships.

At stake is what some have called the most prestigious title in trucking: Bendix National Truck Driving Championships Grand Champion.

“These drivers exemplify what is great about our industry,” said American Trucking Associations President and CEO Bill Graves, “a dedication to safety is unmatched and a commitment to deliver the nation’s goods efficiently and professionally. The hard work and passion these men and women exhibit to even qualify for the NTDC is something we all can learn from.”

This year, 422 drivers representing all 50 states will compete in the “Super Bowl of Safety,” Aug. 20-24 at the Salt Palace Convention Center in Salt Lake City. Each year, NTDC is hosted by American Trucking Associations and for the third straight year, Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems LLC is the sponsor of the Bendix National Truck Driving Championships Grand Champion award.

In addition to the NTDC, the nation’s top vehicle enforcement officers will compete in the 21st annual North American Inspectors Championship, hosted by the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance.

ATA’s National Truck Driving Championships and National Step Van Driving Championships include top professional truck drivers from around the United States competing at company, state and regional levels to make it to the national competition Aug. 20-24 in Salt Lake City. The NTDC annually attracts over 2,000 cheering friends, family, colleagues and spectators.
