New Retrievable Online Employment Application For Truck Drivers
MyCDLapp.com has redesigned its web-based driver application to allow driver applicants to retrieve data entered in previous employment applications when applying for new driving jobs.
The new approach allows drivers to shorten the time it takes to complete an FMCSA-compliant employment application. The latest update allows drivers to instantly recall information from previous job applications they completed, reducing the time it takes to fill out the necessary documents by as much as 80% when applying for new driving jobs.
The program is a low cost way for small and medium carriers to implement attractive, web-based driver employment applications and consent forms that are mobile-ready and allow for electronic signatures on any device.
Applications are online and can be completed and signed in minutes, even while the driver is on the go.
“The average driver job application can be anywhere between 10-25 pages including consent forms,” says Brandon Lawrence, Customer Service Manager at MyCDLapp.com. “Going forward, whenever a driver sees the MyCDLapp.com watermark in the corner of a carrier’s job application that driver immediately knows that most of the work of completing the application is already done, assuming they previously applied to an employer who uses MyCDLapp.com as their online employment application.”
Drivers still need to authorize each of the consent forms, as well as electronically sign the application and other documents. However, they do not need to reenter all of their historical data, such as past employers, accidents, and traffic convictions. Likewise, the online application makes updating historical data simple by allowing the applicant to easily append old data with newer information such as adding recent employers and employment gaps.
“Obviously the driver has to complete his/her first application, in full, in order to reap the time-saving benefits on future applications, but the data is available for the remainder of his/her driving career,” says Lawrence. In order for applicants to retrieve their stored application data they must use a combination of the previous application-ID, along with their social security number. For drivers who can’t recall their previous application-ID, the system will send it to the email address saved in the previous application.
