Nissan May Sales Off

Nissan has reported its May 2015 sales total group sales were off slightly, down 0.8%.

Of note:

• Nissan LEAF sales were down 32.5% May 2015 vs. May 2014 and off 25.5% year to date. One would think that dropping prices at the pump negatively impacted electric vehicle sales.
• Overall sales of Nissan crossovers, trucks and SUVs set a May record, up 17.6 percent.
• Sales of the Nissan Rogue crossover increased 38.3 percent to 25,901, setting a May record.
• Murano crossover sales increased 58.3 percent to 5,715.
