Octillion Celebrates 100,000 EVs on the Road with its Batteries
The growth in clean energy is driving the expansion business
Octillion Power Systems, a leading provider of advanced lithium-ion storage systems for electric mobility, today announced it has reached two major milestones: 100,000 electric vehicles worldwide powered by its batteries and 2 billion kilometers driven.
Celebrating its 10th year in business, Octillion has seen rapid growth in production capacity, experience, and partnerships over the last decade. With operations in the United States, India and China, the company has expanded production capacity to over 3 gigawatt hours (GWh) to meet the increasing demand for EVs as the market matures with plans to double this capacity in the next three to four years.
“Over the past 10 years, we have shipped 100,000 EV batteries globally,” said Paul Beach, president, Octillion Power Systems. “We continue to expand our operations and build on our demonstrated ability to bridge customers from their early steps into the EV marketplace to mass production. EVs powered by our batteries around the world have been driven more than two billion kilometers.”
Octillion continues to increase its market share and customer base across the globe. In India, for example, Octillion has become the leading battery pack manufacturer after having shipped more than 600 buses worth of batteries to the country’s rapidly expanding market.
In the U.S., Octillion supplies batteries to companies such as Colorado’s Lightning Systems, a fast-growing commercial fleet electric powertrain manufacturer, as well as other commercial OEMs.
“Our production capacity and rapid growth are not the only things that set us apart,” Beach said. “Over the past 10 years, our engineers have designed more than 150 different EV pack variants, making our ‘platform-based strategy’ a versatile hallmark that our customers rely on.”
“When compared to our competitors, who average around 15,000 employees, it is clear that our success is just the beginning,” Beach said. “We have a laser-like focus on mass producing custom-designed batteries for our customers, and we’re growing our market share in the U.S. and Europe as a result.”
“Going above and beyond our impressive growth, we have worked with our customers to introduce many new electric vehicles,” Beach said. “We also recently supplied batteries for ventilators in India to address the devastating COVID-19 crisis, and very much want to do what is right for society, our employees, and our customers.”
“The growth in clean energy is driving the expansion our business,” Beach concluded. “We’re focused on helping the world have a greener future, and we’re looking forward to many more milestone anniversaries in the future.”
