Omnitracs Continues its Decade of Support for Wreaths Across America with $25,000 Donation

Employees will volunteer their time to help communities remember and give thanks to fallen veterans for their service

Omnitracs, LLC, a global pioneer of fleet management solutions to transportation and logistics companies, has pledged $25,000 toward the purchase of 2,500 wreaths to support the Wreaths Across America (WAA) program. For the last decade, Omnitracs has supported WAA through donations and volunteer initiatives. On “Wreaths Across America Day,” hundreds of Omnitracs employees will support this effort to remember and honor military veterans and their families.

“Omnitracs is a people-first organization, and our community extends far beyond our employees and customers,” said Stacey Martin, chief human resources officer at Omnitracs. “We are constantly looking for ways to give back to our communities and Wreaths Across America is an incredible opportunity for our staff to support veterans and their families. We’re so grateful for all the individuals who are volunteering their time at the wreath-laying ceremonies.”

Many U.S. veterans are employed in transportation jobs, with countless organizations offering focused programs and employment opportunities specifically for them. WAA’s wreath-laying ceremonies give members of the industry an opportunity to give back to the veteran community, while also remembering fallen heroes and honoring the sacrifices they made for freedom. Omnitracs has supported WAA’s mission to “remember, honor and teach” for the last 10 years, donating more than 20,000 wreaths to support this cause.

“Wreaths Across America is an incredible organization, and the transportation industry is honored to be an instrumental part of the organization’s success,” said Pat McCaffrey, chief operating officer at Omnitracs. “Veterans are an important part of the trucking community, and it’s wonderful to see our employees, customers and families come together for this cause. We’re looking forward to participating again and celebrating the men and women who have served this country.”

On December 14, thousands of volunteers will participate in wreath-laying ceremonies at Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia, as well as 1,600 additional locations in the U.S. and abroad. In addition to Arlington, Omnitracs employees will take part in ceremonies being held at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery in Dallas, Texas, Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and Miramar National Cemetery in San Diego, California. Individuals that are unable to attend the ceremony will have an opportunity to sponsor a wreath.

Several of Omnitracs’ customers, including DM Bowman, Inc., also support WAA and will join in this initiative.

“As members of the Truckload Carriers Association and the American Trucking Associations we are pleased to join our industry colleagues in donating the manpower and equipment to deliver the wreaths,” said Jim Ward, president and chief executive officer at DM Bowman, Inc. “Don Bowman and the DM Bowman, Inc. family look forward to participating in this annual event each year. As a company, it’s a small way for us to honor and pay tribute to our veterans, especially those who paid the ultimate sacrifice. The laying of these wreaths during the holiday season is a reminder, to all generations, that freedom is not free.”
