Omnitracs Releases Latest Version of Roadnet® Transportation Suite
To deliver enhanced routing and productivity tools for fleets, including intelligent cargo loading and identification for accurate delivery, Omnitracs, a global leader in fleet management solutions to transportation and logistics companies, has announced the availability of Roadnet® Transportation Suite 3.7.4.
The new version is a powerful, on-premise vehicle routing, scheduling, tracking, mobile workforce, and fleet management software approach. The updated solution delivers added functionality, new features, and enhancements across the suite’s FleetLoader, MobileCast, and Roadnet products. With improved visibility to driver activities, the latest release helps fleets plan, manage, and route trucks more efficiently.
Route divergence is common and often necessary for drivers, yet it is not always easy to account for. The latest release of the Roadnet Transportation Suite enables drivers to relocate their layovers on routes, so that if an incident occurs that forces drivers to spend their layover somewhere other than the predetermined location, they can now relocate that layover on their route to match what actually occurred. With an up-to-date and accurate history of everywhere drivers have stayed, in addition to their associated expenses, fleets can experience more streamlined reporting and route management.
“We’ve listened closely to our customers to make the right feature enhancements, and this latest iteration of Roadnet Transportation Suite delivers intelligent and productivity-rich tools that enable our customers to find the perfect balance of technology and driver know-how in order to maximize their investment while creating the most efficient routes possible,” stated Kevin Haugh, general manager, Omnitracs Roadnet Technologies. “Executing the perfect delivery is often easier said than done, and requires that variables such as driver preferences, capacity restraints, and real-time data flows are well aligned. Despite these complexities and the demands of an ever-evolving transportation landscape, Roadnet Transportation Suite helps to make the perfect delivery possible.”
In the new version of the solution, users will also experience expanded features in MobileCast, with the ability to recognize compartments within a truck while suggesting a route in which to add a stop. This capability delivers vital information to fleets, as certain cargo products cannot be mixed due to compatibility issues. With intelligent search and recognition, MobileCast can identify vehicles that have compartments containing compatible product or compartments that are completely empty, enabling the truck to carry a mix of cargo for the full route. Additional functionality in MobileCast gives drivers the ability to mark a stop as undeliverable, or to annotate whether a re-attempt at delivery should be made at a later point in time within the route.
The Roadnet Transportation Suite puts drivers’ needs in focus and answers them with enhancements to Roadnet, which now offers more user-defined fields to enable drivers additional room to provide important information regarding stops or equipment involved in their routes. FleetLoader helps drivers in the cargo loading/unloading process by maximizing use of lower and empty bays while minimizing the use of wheel and upper bays, which also helps combat safety hazards associated with cargo shifts that take place as a result of sharp turns.
