Regional LTL carrier chooses FACTS freight management software to automate operational and business processes and support expansion

Carrier Logistics Inc. (CLI), veteran providers of freight management software for Less-Than-Truckload (LTL) fleets, today announced Ross Express, LLC has chosen to implement its FACTS solution to modernize business processes and improve productivity.

“Over the past few years as Ross Express has experienced double digit growth, we found ourselves in need of a transportation management solution that could scale with our business,” said Kenneth W. Munsell, senior business systems analyst at Ross Express, LLC. “We were looking for a fully integrated solution that could automate our business processes, leverage the latest mobile technology, and provide our customers with best in class tools. After evaluating systems from a variety of providers, we were immediately struck by the overall power and flexibility of some of the key components in FACTS. It was clear that CLI was the best choice.

“Another reason we selected CLI was because we knew they would be more than a technology provider,” Munsell added. “They were going to be a partner who would take the time to truly understand our business and help us fully realize the efficiency and productivity gains achievable with their software solution. Ross also has multiple integrations and other requirements that are unique and CLI has proven that they are willing and capable of creating and supporting custom solutions for our business.”

Ross first engaged CLI in June of 2020 and is now fully using its FACTS transportation and freight management system, including the software’s rate engine, automated and dynamic reporting capabilities, and dispatching module with an integrated mapping solution. The carrier has also deployed an integration CLI built with Acordex Mobile Dispatch to improve pickup and delivery workflow by streamlining communication between drivers and its dispatching team. The ability to collect valuable data earlier in a shipment life cycle is seen by Ross Express as a driving force throughout various areas of its business, including operational planning as well as customer facing tools like shipment tracking.

Founded in 1947and headquartered in Boscawen, New Hampshire, Ross Express is a privately held regional LTL carrier. Its fleet of 146 power units operates from six terminals to provide direct overnight delivery in all six New England states and next day service to parts of New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

“Ross Express is known as a premium service provider and we are pleased they wanted to augment that level of service with our technology offerings,” said CLI President Ben Wiesen. “FACTS provides them with the ability to automate business processes that can support company growth, and to modernize the carrier’s operation and strengthen its company brand. We look forward to not just being the software provider to Ross Express, but also their technology partner for years to come.”

The Carrier Logistics FACTS™ transportation and freight management system can be deployed across a network as a single database to manage all administrative and operations functions. FACTS includes a complete financial suite, and the FACTS Deal Management pricing and rating module, which provides LTL freight operations with the ability to properly price and rate shipments.
