Seattle, a city known for being green is electrifying its efforts to go even greener, having recently
opened 156 new city-owned electric vehicle charging stations from industry leader, ClipperCreek.

The new additions, coupled with 32 existing ones, are designated to be used by fleet vehicles. Put them all together and the total 188 vehicles make up one of the largest indoor EV charging stations in the country.

The stakes are high for the environment and Seattle is striving to help with a goal of becoming carbon neutral by 2050.

From a broader perspective, Seattle’s fleet now totals in excess of 200 plug-in vehicles and 300 hybrid vehicles.

Here’s why it’s so important. According to experts, each internal combustion engine replaced with an electric vehicles reduces operating costs by 30% and, get this, greenhouse gas emissions fall 100%.

EV charging stations from innovators such as ClipperCreek also require lower maintenance costs and estimates show that the infrastructure will last 50 years or longer. That’s big and green.
