Serco Awarded $30 Million Contract for Motorist Assistance Patrol Operations in Louisiana
Serco will perform minor road-side repairs, moves disabled vehicles and non-hazardous spills from travel lanes
Serco Inc., a provider of professional, technology, and management services has been awarded a contract by the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (LaDOTD) to continue delivering traffic incident management services across the state of Louisiana. The five-year contract has a total value of $30 million.
Under this program, Serco provides motorist assistance, performs minor road-side repairs, moves disabled vehicles and non-hazardous spills from travel lanes, reports incident information to the Traffic Management Centers (TMC), and assists other first responders on scene during traffic incident management situations.
“Over the past 3 years, Serco has worked closely with Louisiana’s Department of Transportation to improve the states motorist assistant program,” said Dave Dacquino, Serco’s Chairman and CEO. “Under this contract, we will continue to improve upon this success by bringing innovative technology and operational capabilities to better serve the citizens of Louisiana.”
Serco also delivers motorist assistance support for the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) Austin District, in addition to managing TxDOT’s Combined Transportation, Emergency & Communications Center in Austin. Serco’s transportation division delivers Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) services, Air Traffic Control (ATC) operations, rail operations & maintenance, fleet management and parking enforcement services throughout the country.
